The Inari Saami Language Association documents and promotes the use of the Inari Saami language by publishing books and newspapers, as well as conducting research on Inari Saami in collaboration with the University of Oulu and the Arctic University of Norway. In recent years, the Association has produced literature in the Inari Saami language and translated youth literature from various languages.

The Association maintained language nests from 1997 to 2021. In 2021, the language nest activities were transferred to the municipality of Inari. The language nests continue to operate on the same principles as they did under the Association. The Association collaborates with the language nests.
